Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a YouTube API key?

The app walks you through it on first launch — it takes about two minutes. You create a free key in the Google Cloud Console, enable the YouTube Data API v3, and paste the key into GlobalCollabs. There is no cost for normal use.

What is demo mode?

Demo mode lets you explore the full app using built-in sample data — no API key and no account needed. Switch to live searching anytime by adding your YouTube API key in Settings.

How do subscriptions work?

GlobalCollabs Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase, billed through your Apple Account. Free users can browse in demo mode and run limited searches.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open Settings on your iPhone → tap your name → SubscriptionsGlobalCollabsCancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the current billing period.

How do I restore a purchase on a new device?

Open GlobalCollabs → SettingsRestore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy.

My searches return no results — what's wrong?

Most often the YouTube API key isn't active yet or the daily quota is used up. Check that the YouTube Data API v3 is enabled for your key in the Google Cloud Console, and try again after quota resets (midnight Pacific Time). If it persists, email us.

What data do you collect?

Almost nothing — searches go straight from your device to Google using your own key, and we run no servers that see your data. Details in our Privacy Policy.

Can I request a refund?

App Store purchases: request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Web kit purchases via Gumroad: email us within 30 days for a full refund.
